Allt ljus på August i årEverything is going well for August this year.

1897 sitter August Strindberg på sin kammare på Grönegatan 8 i Lund och skriver på den delvis självbiografiska boken ”Inferno”. Ett drygt sekel senare sitter Suscito i huset mittemot och gör den officiella hemsidan till Strindbergsåret 2012.

August Strindberg är utan tvekan en av Sveriges största författare genom tiderna. Med klassikerna ”Röda rummet”, ”Mäster Olof” och ”Fröken Julie” har han gjort mer för det svenska språket än de flesta andra. Hans ordglädje och språkliga eld har inte falnat. I år är det 100 år sedan Strindberg gick bort. Det uppmärksammas både nationellt och internationellt, och inte minst på Internet.

Suscito har på uppdrag av Kulturrådet formgivit och skapat den officiella hemsidan www.strindberg2012.se. Där presenteras aktuella evenemang under Strindbergsåret och där ges även en inblick i Strindbergs liv och gärning. Hemsidan finns tillgänglig på sju olika språk; svenska, spanska, tyska, arabiska, kinesiska, engelska och franska.

När vi skapade hemsidan låg fokus på att göra en webbplats som kändes livfull, levande och fylld med aktiviteter. Den är ett nav för allt det som händer under året, där kalendariet är en viktig del med sökfunktionen.
Det finns mycket att se fram emot under Strindbergsåret 2012. Vi är glada över att få vara en del av firandet.The year is 1897 and August Strindberg is in his room on Grönegatan 8 in Lund and writing the partially autobiographical novel “Inferno”.  Just over a century later, Suscito maintains its offices in the building across the street and is creating the official website for the Year of Strindberg 2012.

August Strindberg is arguably one of Sweden’s greatest writers of all time.  His classics “Red Room”, “Master Olof” and “Miss Julie” have contributed more to the Swedish language than most other works.  His love of words and his knack for language have not been forgotten.  This year marks the 100 years anniversary since Strindberg passed away.  It is observed both nationally and internationally, and last but not least, on the internet.

Suscito was commissioned by the Arts Council to design and create the official website, www.strindberg2012.se.  The website contains current events during the Year of Strindberg and provides an insight into Strindberg’s life and achievements.  The website is available in seven different languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish and Swedish.

When we created the website, the goal was to make a website that feels vibrant, alive and is filled with events.  It is the hub for everything that occurs during the year; the calendar is a central part and contains a search function.

There is much to look forward to during the Year of Strindberg 2012.  We are excited to be a part of the celebration.
